Submission
Posters and presentations (including oral presentations, extended presentations and conferences) can be produced and presented in Portuguese, Spanish or English.
Guideline for presentations
Posters
Each poster address of must have: title and authorship (exactly as in the submitted abstract), name of the presenting author should be indicated with an asterisk; author affiliations; e-mail corresponding author; funding agencies and other financial supports, when applicable
Poster should be printed in portrait orientation, ideally presenting 90cm (wide) X 110 cm (high).
A designed site identified with Arabic number will be reserved for each poster (available in the 9º CBH programme). Author must hang the poster in the designed site (identified with the number) in the presentation day from morning to 30 minutes before the Poster Session begins. Mounting material will not be provided by the congress staff. Remove your poster at the end of your scheduled session. If you do not remove your poster during the removal time, your poster will be removed by the 9º CBH staff and discarded.
As the number of spaces for presentations is limited, Your poster may be indicated by the 9th CBH staff for oral presentation.
Abstracts must have no more than 250 words. We will accept a maximum of 3 (three) abstracts per author.
Oral presentations
Each speaker will have a total of 15 minutes, including up to 5 minutes for questions. We suggest that the first slide in the presentation include: title and authorship (exactly as in the submitted abstract); name of the presenting author should be indicated with an asterisk.
CBH staff will provide a PC with Microsoft Windows and a wireless slide presenter. Presentation file must be PDF or PowerPoint formats. All Speakers are required to go to the designed presentation room in the morning before their session, and deliver the presentation file in a USB storage device, in person, to the person of the CBH organization committee present in the room.
As the number of spaces for presentations is limited, Your oral presentation may be indicated by the 9th CBH staff as poster presentation. Alternatively, it may be indicated for compose a symposium in your area, if applicable.
Abstracts should have a maximum of 250 words. We will accept a maximum of 3 (three) abstracts per author.
Extended Presentations
Each presentation will have a maximum duration of 30 minutes, including up to 5 minutes for questions. We suggest that the first slide should contain the title identical to the submitted abstract, as well as the same author (s), and the presenting author should be indicated on the slide with an asterisk.
A computer with Microsoft Windows and a wireless slide show will be available to the presenter. Presentations must be prepared in PDF or PowerPoint format. The presenter should personally submit the presentation to the organization of the event on a device with USB input. A member of the staff will be in each room, where the oral presentations will take place, receiving all the presentations of the day in the morning before its presentation.
As the number of spaces for presentations is limited, some may be indicated for oral presentations (defined by the organizing committee of the 9th CBH).
Abstracts should have a maximum of 250 words and only one proposal per author will be accepted.
Short Courses
Short Courses of a maximum duration of 7 hours will be given on Monday, 22th of July, starting at 8:00 am in the Convention Center and UNICAMP “Ciclo básico” rooms. The exact location will be emailed to teachers and students in advance. Proposals for workshops may be sent within the deadlines in the schedule and must contain:
- Short Courses title;
- Presenter(s) name(s), including academic degree, filiation and C.V. (Curriculum lattes for brazilian)
- Short Courses summary (max 250 words)
Selected proposals will be published on the website and sent by e-mail to the organizers. CBH staff will provide a room with projector, computer and speakers. The CBH will guarantee free congress registration exclusively for one organizer / lecturer of each accepted workshop.
Short Courses that are not taught in Portuguese must explicitly state in which language (Spanish or English) they will be taught.
Round Tables Discussion and Symposia
Symposia and round tables discussions will last 2 hours (from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
Symposia will be composed of up to 6 lectures. Each lecture should be 20
minutes long, including up to 5 minutes for questions. The last 20
minute interval can be reserved for a wider discussion with the
audience.
Round table will consist of up to 6 20-minute presentations that must
present different points of view on the same central theme, in order to
foment a final discussion that will occur in the last 30 minutes of the
period. The first lecture can be given by the moderator who will present
the central theme.
Each proposal should be accompanied by a summary of the symposium /
round table, with the participants’ names and summaries of each lecture.
Each abstract should have a maximum of 250 words. Important: if the
responsible for the submission doesn’t have any summary information,
include “To be defined” in the corresponding block of text. According to
the example below:

Workshops
The 9th CBH will have space for three workshops – selected after submission.
These workshops will be held in the same auditoriums where the other lectures will take place, and may be in two formats: i) only for guests (participants or not) or ii) open to the participants, in addition to the guests.
The workshops will be held between 9:00 and 12:00 on Friday (July 26).
To select the proposals, the proponent must send a summary of a maximum of 250 words, indicating the moderator and participants / entities that will be invited.
Science Slam
Each selected participant will have 9 minutes to do his/her presentation.
Puppets, costumes, music, dance, mimicry, audience participation, anything that entertains is permitted, but sexist, discriminatory or offensive jokes will not be tolerated in any way. Presentation can be in English, Spanish or Portuguese (or any mixture among these). The winner will be chosen by popular acclaim.Criteria for judging will be clarity, novelty and, above all, entertainment!
The 6 most promising abstracts will be selected by ‘committee 69’ (6 members, choosing 6 abstracts of 9 minutes for 9th CBH2019). Send abstract (up to 250 words) as per dates on site # CBH2019. In the abstract, in addition to the scientific content to be presented, one must inform which techniques will be addressed to expose the proposed theme.
Only one stage and one microphone will be available – any instrument, clothing, etc … should be provided by the presenter.
HerpetoArte
Do you draw, paint or create sculptures of amphibians or reptiles? During this edition of CBH we will promote HerpetoArte – a booth with exhibition of works that include reptiles and amphibians. Those interested should contact Dr. Raoni Rebouças (raoni.biologia@gmail.com) for more information. No prizes or any expenses will be allocated to participants. However, the works may be negotiated with the congressmen at the discretion of the exhibitors.
Photo contest and tattoos of reptiles and amphibians
Each attendee may send 1 photograph of an amphibian or reptile containing: name of the figure (s), author of the photograph and title of the photograph (maximum of 5 words). The best photograph will be awarded during the CBH. More information will be available soon.
Each attendee will be able to send 1 photograph of his / her amphibian or reptile tattoo, containing: name of the figure (s) (and if it is stylized) and the title of the tattoo (maximum 5 words). The best tattoo will be awarded during the CBH. More information will be available soon.
There will be no registration for these competitions.
During the voting period, the photos will be exposed without showing the author’s name. Only the names of the authors of the winning photos will be announced during the award ceremony.
If a participant submits more than one photo, only the first file received will be considered valid.
